Registration Application / Registration Directions
for 2010-2011 School Year
1st Step (All Applicants)
Read over the Handbook to acquaint yourself and your child with the school's current philosophy, policies, and regulations. Click on the following link Handbook 09-10 (New Handbook with minor changes for '10-'11 coming soon). Download this document from our website or obtain a copy from our office.
2nd Step (New Students ONLY—Returning Students skip to Step 3)
C. Schedule an interview with the Principal, Gaylan Herr. Please bring copies of any recent grades and/or testing results, if possible, for the applying student. D. Once accepted, click here to get Record Release form for previous school so we can get official transcripts. Please be sure that any obligations to a previous school have been met so records can be released. 3rd Step (All Students)
Registration Packet 10-11(or request one from the office). Fill in the required information and provide signatures where necessary. We now have separate Pledge & Acknowledgment of Rules for PK-2nd and 3rd-12th. Click on the appropriate one below: New Students and Returning Students entering grades 1, 4, 7, or 10: Pay special attention to the Physical Exam Form and requirement for Alabama Immunization Card. A physician must sign these. If your child has not been seen by a physician recently or needs immunizations, you will need to schedule that right away (doctors get very busy right before school). B. Return material on or before, Sunday, August 8, 2010, with Registration Fee of $25 and Textbook Fee of $50 for full consideration. (If registering by June 1, Textbook Fee is WAIVED.) First month's tuition will be due on Aug. 8, and condisidered late if not received by Aug. 15. The school will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8 to accept completed forms or provide help with navigating the process. After Aug. 8, Registration Fee is $50. * * * * * * * * * *
DLA Students (formerly AE21) — Follow the above steps AND register online with the Forest Lake Distance Learning program. For returning students, we can provide grades, testing results, and a copy of the Birth Certificate for DLA with your permission. Once you are enrolled in DLA, re-enrollment in subsequent years is much easier.
Scholarship Funding? — Over the last few years, some of you have benefited from receiving money from a "worthy student" fund to help with tuition. As the school has grown, the requests began to overwhelm the fund and the surplus we once enjoyed is now depleted. Families may still make requests, but they need to know that the likelihood of a positive response is low at this time—in other words, don't count on this resource to fund your child's education. We have access to a lending company that has set up a program for our type of school, but this should only be used as a temporary fix until other sources of income can be arranged. |
