Kindergarten
We have a combined K4 and K5 program. The age requirements are that the child must turn 4 or 5 before August 15 to enter these respective classes. We will not allow any age exceptions because of the detrimental emotional and developmental effects of pushing a child too quickly.
Our Kindergarten teacher is Mrs. Carolyn Petty. She has 14 years of experience and her class size is limited to 12 students which enables good one-on-one attention.
The Kindergarten schedule includes:
- Story Time
- Learning Activities
- Computer Time
- Outdoor Play
Afternoon nap time is also on the schedule.
We keep personal journals. We learn about ourselves and our world. We enjoy visits with Ms. Katie-Jane, from the Hoover Library, and Ms. Angel, from our own school library. We love Ms. Carrie's music class! And we go on field trips: a fire station, a farm, a children's musical, and the zoo. We have a First Day of School Party, a Christmas party, a 100th Day of School Party, and several birthday parties: lots of opportunities to enjoy our favorite snickerdoodles! We always have a wonderful year together!
